Description
It’s said that drowning and freezing are life’s most euphoric deaths. Naturally the only people who would know for sure have not been able to neither confirm nor deny these tales.
Kai felt it, though. She was falling gently, almost in slow motion, to the bottom of the lake. She remembers how cold the water felt as it filled her lungs. She remembers reaching out trying to grab hold of the air that escaped her lips. She tried to scream, yet nothing but an ominous ringing met her ears. That is when she felt it.
When she let go, when she let the water push her further and further down, that’s when she felt euphoria rushing over her. Giving up the fight and accepting fate, accepting that she would only have a few precious moments left of her life, she felt okay.
Her life did not flash before her eyes, she simply lived her last few moment content, and she was okay with that.
